EXIHIBITIONS AND INSTALLATIONS

Installation ‘ISFF 2010’

_Marvin Hesse

The installation ‘ISFF2010’ by Marvin Hesse is meant to describe the International Short Film Festival Detmold. It’s going to be the initials ‘ISFF’ in oversize made of euro pallets, build in front of the Hangar 21. At first sight the letters remind of the ‘HOLLYWOOD’ writing in Los Angeles. Those were build in 1923 to attract people and make them come to town. The ISFF writing is made of simple recourses and much smaller – simply the short film type. Furthermore it’s made of euro pallets – a medium that normally carries all different kinds of goods. Just like a video tape or a filmstrip the pallets are a porter with load that decides about its durability, popularity and its range. Content counts. All festival visitors are invited to stick notes with dreams, ideas or just greetings on the writing. Little by little the letters will get brighter and will be ready for it’s illumination on Saturday night. Complete and full of paper, enlightened by a moving projection it will reflect the 6th International Short Film Festival Detmold. A big, colorful festivity. A meeting point for various people, nationalities, ideas, a good mood and a big headline – ISFF.
