8. INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL DETMOLD
From 7th to 10th june 2012, we are going to present more than 200 short films from all over the world in the "Kulturfabrik Hangar 21".
The preparations of the 8th ISFF Detmod are running.
We are happy to welcome a lot of international film producers, artists in Detmold. This program will be accompanied by a whole number of installations, events, happenings and concerts.
The festival wants to offer cultural exchange, enabling all participants to deepen their experience of life. Film as a form of art has the power to create a tolerant world - even if initially on screen only: it's a first class medium for transporting unusual perspectives of our view of the world and our actions.
In 2012 a bunch of shorts & spectacles are waiting for you! That's for sure! Also in 2012, there will be beautiful tents for your well-being in front of the Hangar 21.
Why do we love short films?
Cinema is the seventh and the last kind of art and has begun with short films. Formerly people told themselves stories. Since 2500 years they are shown us - in the theater, paintings & sculpting, music, dancing, literature, architecture and in cinema. They are everywhere and for everyone in the atmosphere – as it were we have inhaled them.
Short films give us the possibility to recognize all kinds of the structures that we met. Every filmmaker has got his own aura, his own way to show us what is need to shown. So let’s enjoy that at least some of them mirror us. That’s our story and if we were happy, we wouldn’t have one.
