Festival is over now. A time full of experiences, messages, feelings going up and down.

And then it was time to say goodbye to the Turks who had to leave for Ankara. Hopefully we`ll see each other again in march!

The 3rd International Short film Festival in Detmold begins TODAY.

Up to now, in many workshops given by the foreign directors (Jared Katsiane, Prof. Oliver Grönewald and Birgit Rudel) we have learned about important bases of film making. We have already made our first short films within small groups, done cut and have made film music.

Yesterday evening, at the opening took place in the Major House, some of the ready short films taken by the participants were shown. The  shortfilm " West Bank Story " directed by Ari Sandel and  got the Oscar , was shown as a climax. And then we had parties to celebrate our festival's happy and successful going. We were in the "KaiserKeller" for a concert by  a Turkish band called "Sertsessiz" whose members also take part in the filmfestival.

Everyone was happy and was enjoying. In the following days, 29 blocks of short films from different countries will be shown.

The total number of participants will be about hundred. Transfer, lodging and catering are nearly organised.

Our new trailer is completed. It was already screened in Detmold during various open-air concerts.

Christian Deckert was a weekend in Düsseldorf to contact artists and gallery owners for a rich supporting programme of the festival.

We are currently working in two bureaus...

Entries from 48 different nations, we will enlarge our stamp collection!

This year nearly 1000 films were sent for the festival.

9 directors sent two copies in different times.

There is a considerable increase in black and white films compared to previous years.

One film was shot in Berlin, sent from London and the director is Canadian, we liked it, but it is 38 minutes long.

One director sent 30 different films for preliminary elimination.

Eric Satie's music is top as film music. Whichever continent they come from, the directors have certainly met in common points.

Notes for the directors:

To put a film in an envelope is not enough, the entryform and two stills are required too.

Unfortunately some films are defected. The films should be tested before sending.

Unnecessary scenes are abundant in nearly 800 films we have watched. Films are unnecessarily long.

Maximum length for the entry to the festival next year is thought to be brought to ten minutes. What do you think?

We thank everyone who sent us an entry for FilmLichter07. Now we have a great collection of interesting films, which are selected for the program. We are looking forward to meet some of the directors in person during the festival.
